(Something to relieve your lockdown boredom)
As some of you may know, I’m a long-retired Professor Emeritus, having taught Journalism and Literature at CSULB from 1978 to 1993.
I miss a few things from those years…primarily the good feeling of being in a profession that makes a positive contribution to the world. On the personal, not-so-admirable side of my teaching methods, I miss dropping surprise pop quizzes on my students to keep them sharp.
You may call my resurrection of such a practice sadistic; I justify it by preparing you for citizenship in a new nation, Pacifica, which just a few days back was midwifed into existence by none other than our own Governor Gavin Newsom.
